Joy Omewa scores twice as Asisat Oshoala adds another in dominant victory over Senegal in Ikenne.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons continued their impressive build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a convincing 3-0 victory over Senegal in an international friendly played on Monday at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
After defeating the Teranga Lionesses 2-1 in their first meeting, the nine-time African champions completed a dominant double-header, recording a 5-1 aggregate score across both matches.

Following a goalless first half, Joy Omewa broke the deadlock in the 49th minute after connecting with a cross from Shukurat Oladipo. She doubled Nigeria’s lead seven minutes later, again benefiting from Oladipo’s creative play.
Veteran striker Asisat Oshoala sealed the win in the 66th minute, calmly finishing a pass from captain Rasheedat Ajibade to make it 3-0.
Senegal attempted a comeback, but goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made crucial saves to preserve Nigeria’s clean sheet and crown another solid defensive performance.
The victory provides another confidence boost for coach Justine Madugu’s side as they continue preparations for WAFCON 2026 in Morocco, where the Super Falcons will be aiming to reclaim the continental title and extend their record as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
