Key PDP stakeholders and political leaders in Ogun West declare support for Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), pledging to mobilise structures ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State is reportedly facing renewed internal tension following the defection of several prominent stakeholders in Ogun West, who have declared support for Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as “Yayi,” ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The stakeholders converged at Senator Adeola’s senatorial office in Ilaro on Friday, where they announced their decision to mobilise political structures across the zone in support of his ambition to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun.

According to the stakeholders, their decision was informed by Senator Adeola’s performance as a legislator and his perceived capacity to deliver development-focused governance that addresses the needs of the people.
The gathering, which also featured political figures previously associated with both PDP and APC structures, is being viewed as a significant realignment in Ogun West politics, a region widely considered strategic in the build-up to the 2027 elections.
Welcoming the delegation, Senator Adeola expressed appreciation for their support and assured them of an inclusive political movement anchored on unity, mutual respect, and development-driven leadership.
He emphasized that his aspiration is open to all stakeholders willing to contribute to the progress of Ogun State, regardless of party background.
The stakeholders, in turn, pledged sustained mobilisation across Ogun West, signaling a growing political momentum around Adeola’s governorship ambition as the 2027 race gradually takes shape.
