Radio host alleges plan to plant illegal substances at station and link it to criminal activities in Oyo State.

Popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, has raised concerns over an alleged plot to demolish his radio station, Agidigbo FM, claiming the facility has been falsely linked to criminal activities in Oyo State.

Hamzat, in a statement, alleged that there were plans to plant hard drugs at the station and use the claim as a basis for its demolition.

“I know Surii Ilupeju… I have seen those you sent. Plant hard drugs in Agidigbo FM as you have planned, and demolish Agidigbo FM, but you can never demolish Oriyomi,” he said.

The broadcaster did not disclose the identities of those he accused or provide evidence to support the allegation, but insisted that he would not be intimidated.

The claim comes amid heightened security concerns in Oyo State following recent incidents of kidnapping and public debates over efforts to tackle criminal activities in the region.
