Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke

Governor accuses police of bias, unresolved killings as DIG assures peaceful conduct of forthcoming elections.

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of suspected political thugs, insisting that violence and politically motivated killings must not be tolerated in the state.

Speaking during a meeting with Deputy Inspector-General of Police Adegoke Fayoade at the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke accused some police officers of partisanship and alleged collaboration with political thugs. He also demanded the redeployment of the state, Ibrahim Gotan, citing unresolved political killings and what he described as biased policing.

Responding, the DIG assured the governor that the Inspector-General of Police had directed security operatives to investigate all violent crimes, arrest offenders, and ensure a peaceful atmosphere ahead of the forthcoming Osun governorship election. He pledged that the police would act professionally and uphold the rule of law throughout the electoral process.
