President describes late matriarch as a woman of faith, humility, and selfless service who left behind an enduring legacy.
President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, mother of former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Dame Amaechi passed away at the age of 89.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the late matriarch as a woman of deep faith whose life was defined by love, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
According to the President, Dame Amaechi remained devoted to the Catholic faith, upheld strong family values, and raised children committed to public service.
He noted that her virtues of kindness, perseverance, and humility earned her the admiration of many within and beyond her community.
“My heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family, the Catholic faithful, and the government and people of Rivers State over the loss of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, a champion of faith whose life was marked by humility and selfless service to humanity,” Tinubu said.
“May Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest and comfort all who mourn her passing at this difficult time.”
The President urged the bereaved family to take solace in the legacy of faith, dignity, and service she left behind, noting that her contributions to her family, the Church, and society would continue to be remembered.
