Members of The Angel of Christ Gospel Church were left emotional on Sunday, July 26, 2026, after the church’s founder, Prophet Samuel Samiye Olabode, presented one of his church elders with a grey 2011 Toyota Highlander during the worship service.
While announcing the gift, Prophet Samiye explained that he did not want to be counted among prominent pastors who own several vehicles while some of their faithful church elders have none. He said he chose to give out his own vehicle as a gesture of appreciation and support for the elder.
The presentation turned into an emotional moment as the prophet and the elder embraced before the congregation. Prophet Samiye then offered prayers, anointing both the elder and the vehicle by pouring anointing oil on the elder’s head and the car’s engine.
Following the prayers, the elder drove the SUV out of the church premises as members erupted in applause, with many visibly moved by the gesture.
The act has also attracted widespread praise on social media, where many users described the gift as a rare display of generosity, gratitude, and genuine care for long-serving church leaders.
