Board disowns fraudulent online circular as OYRLEA intensifies environmental enforcement in Ibadan communities.
The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) has warned members of the public to disregard a fake online circular claiming that applications have commenced for internship and housemanship programmes in the state’s health facilities.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Board described the publication as false and misleading, warning that it was the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to deceive unsuspecting applicants.
OYSHMB clarified that it has not commenced any recruitment exercise for internship or housemanship programmes and urged students, parents and other members of the public not to respond to the fraudulent notice.
The Board advised anyone seeking information on internships, the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) or other hospital management programmes to visit its headquarters at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, for verified information. The Permanent Secretary, Dr Anifat Ibraheem, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing authentic information through official channels.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA) has intensified enforcement against illegal livestock and agricultural activities in parts of Ibadan in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and security agencies.
The authority issued a final 14-day abatement notice to residents and property owners in the Mercy Rock area of Akobo who failed to comply with an earlier 21-day environmental compliance directive.
Officials also served a similar notice on the owner of a poultry farm in the Ifesowapo, Yawiri area after inspections revealed poor waste management practices, offensive odour and environmental conditions capable of posing serious public health risks.
OYRLEA warned that individuals and organisations that fail to comply with the directives within the stipulated period would face enforcement actions in accordance with the environmental laws of Oyo State.
