Ahmed Ajibola says documented appointments contradict claims that his resignation was linked to disciplinary issues.
Chief Ahmed Ajibola, who recently resigned from the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, has dismissed reports linking his exit from the group to alleged misconduct, describing the claims as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Ajibola said documents available to journalists show that he was offered two separate leadership positions within the movement shortly before his resignation, but he declined both appointments.
The first letter, dated August 1, 2026, and signed by the Oyo State Director of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Olufemi Onireti, informed Ajibola that he had been reassigned from State Coordinator to Coordinator, Directorate of Affairs, following a reshuffle of the state executive council.
Under the new arrangement, he was to report to the State Deputy Director and oversee the activities of the movement’s directorates across Oyo State.
Four days later, on August 5, 2026, the national leadership of the movement offered him another appointment as Coordinator of Stakeholders’ Engagement for the South-West Geopolitical Zone.
The zonal position, which carried an initial tenure of 12 months, required him to report to the South-West Zonal Coordinator.
Ajibola said he rejected both appointments before submitting his resignation.
According to him, the documented offers of continued service contradict allegations that he was forced out of the organisation over misconduct.
He argued that if disciplinary issues had informed his exit, the movement would have issued queries or disciplinary notices rather than offering him new leadership responsibilities.
