Governor alleges political arrest after Bisi reportedly detained shortly after voting in Ilesa.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has condemned the reported arrest of the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Bisi, and called for his immediate release.
Governor Adeleke made the call in a statement posted on his official X account on Saturday and signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The governor alleged that Bisi was arrested at his residence in Ilesa shortly after returning from voting in the ongoing Osun governorship election.
According to Governor Adeleke, the PDP chairman was taken to an undisclosed location, while no reason had been provided for his alleged arrest.
The governor described the incident as an abuse of law enforcement and an attack on the democratic process. He further alleged that the arrest was part of a wider attempt to interfere with the collation of election results, although he provided no evidence to substantiate the claim.
Adeleke accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly working with compromised security personnel to prevent his supporters from monitoring results at collation centres.
He called for the immediate release of Bisi and other persons he described as “political prisoners” across the state.
The governor stressed that elections should allow citizens to freely choose their preferred candidates without intimidation or coercion.
As of the time of filing this report, no security agency had publicly claimed responsibility for the reported arrest, while the whereabouts of the PDP chairman remained unknown.
