EBSIEC declares ruling party winner of Saturday’s local government elections as Governor Nwifuru commends peaceful conduct.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a clean sweep in the Ebonyi State local government elections, winning all 13 chairmanship positions and 171 wards contested across the state.
The Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), Enyi Patrick, announced the results on Sunday, declaring the ruling party winner of the Saturday polls.

Patrick said the elections were conducted peacefully across the state, with voters participating in the exercise across the 13 local government areas.
Governor Francis Nwifuru, who voted at Edupfu Okemini Polling Unit 002 in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area, commended EBSIEC for what he described as the orderly and smooth conduct of the election.
Other stakeholders and political figures also praised the voter turnout and peaceful atmosphere recorded during the exercise.
The result further strengthens the APC’s political control of Ebonyi State, following its victory across all the local government areas and wards contested in Saturday’s election.
