Snaresbrook Crown Court confirms Nigerian dancer’s September 15 hearing for plea and trial preparation.
Popular Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is scheduled to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London over an assault allegation.
The court confirmed the development in a correspondence to PUNCH Online on Tuesday, stating that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, confirmed that the hearing is official but said the precise time and courtroom would only be available on the day before the proceedings.
“I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026,” Baker stated.
He added that criminal court hearings are open to the public, while specific courtroom and timing details would be released closer to the date.
The development followed reports by the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, that Poco Lee was being held on remand in the UK and was expected to appear in court in September.
Kuti said he was aware of the case because of his involvement in attending court proceedings and supporting Nigerians facing legal matters in the United Kingdom.
He said Poco Lee’s next appearance would involve a plea hearing, during which the accused would ordinarily indicate whether he pleaded guilty or not guilty to the allegation.
Kuti also disclosed that he intended to attend the proceedings as part of his support for members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
The court’s confirmation has now formally established that Poco Lee’s case is listed for hearing on September 15, although the precise time and courtroom details are yet to be released.
Poco Lee has not been convicted of the allegation, and the case remains before the court.
