The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has commended the financial support provided by the Federal Government to families of fallen military and police personnel.

Aneke gave the commendation on Thursday during the second edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative presentation of financial support to widows of fallen heroes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The event was attended by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and other senior government, military and security officials.

The Nigerian Air Force disclosed this in a statement shared on its official social media platforms on Thursday.

The programme was organised by the Office of the First Lady under the RHI Social Investment Programme to provide financial assistance to families of personnel who “paid the ultimate price in service to the nation.”

According to the statement, Aneke said the continued support for families of fallen heroes reflected the nation’s appreciation of their sacrifices and demonstrated the government’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of those left behind.

The Chief of the Air Staff joined other senior military and security chiefs at the event, which focused on supporting widows of personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Aneke said initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of bereaved families would help ensure that the sacrifices of fallen personnel were not forgotten.
