FOGSU National Senate celebrates Amao’s years of service and leadership as he assumes key legislative role in FOSSU.
On behalf of the Office of the President of the Senate and the entire Senate Council of the Federation of Ogbomoso Students’ Union (FOGSU) National Parliament, I warmly congratulate our distinguished leader, Distinguished Senator Jeremiah I. Amao, on his constitutional inauguration as the 10th Senate Clerk of the Federation of Oyo State Students’ Union (FOSSU) National Senate Council.
The inauguration, held on August 26, 2026, during the 10th FOSSU National Senate Inaugural Sitting, marks another significant milestone in Amao’s years of dedicated service, commitment and progressive leadership in student unionism.
His leadership journey spans the Ogbomoso student community, the University of Ibadan and the broader FOSSU structure, where he has served in various capacities, including Vice President of FOGSU, Representative of the FOGSU University of Ibadan Chapter, General Secretary of FOSSU University of Ibadan Chapter and Financial Secretary of the FOGSU National Council.
Beyond student unionism, Amao has also served as Organising Secretary of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Oyo State Council, since 2020, and Organising Secretary of the Trade Union Congress, Oyo State, since 2021.
As the 10th Senate Clerk of FOSSU National, Amao now assumes a critical legislative responsibility requiring impartiality, diligence, effective coordination of parliamentary proceedings, proper documentation and preservation of institutional records, as well as strict adherence to the Constitution and Standing Rules of the Senate Council.
We are particularly proud that a product of the Ogbomoso student community has attained this significant position through years of dedicated service and demonstrated capacity.
On behalf of the FOGSU National Senate Council, I celebrate this well-deserved achievement and wish Senator Amao wisdom, strength and excellence as he takes on his new responsibility.
