Board Introduces One-Time Update Process With Biometric and Identity Verification
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a procedure allowing candidates who have lost access to their registered phone numbers or email accounts to update their contact details.
JAMB announced the policy on Monday, September 21, 2026, saying eligible candidates can now change their registered GSM numbers and/or email addresses through a secure process involving identity and biometric verification.
The service is available only at designated JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, including state offices where applicable.
According to the board, the option is specifically for candidates who have genuinely lost access to their registered SIM cards or email accounts.
JAMB said candidates must have their new GSM number or email address ready, as well as a duly executed court affidavit that must be scanned and uploaded as part of the process.
The board stressed that the service can only be accessed once and that all requests will undergo strict identity and biometric verification.
JAMB also warned candidates against using unauthorised persons or channels to process the update, urging them to protect their personal information.
