Ilenikhena and Usor Score as Nigeria Begin Qualifying Campaign With Victory

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have opened their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday.

Debutant George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor scored for Nigeria to secure the three points.

The victory gives Nigeria a winning start in Group L as the team begins its push for a place at the 2027 AFCON in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau in its next qualifier on September 29.
