Governor Says Tinubu’s Financial Support Has Helped Fund Development Projects in State
Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has promised a ₦100 million grant to traders at the Uwelu Spare Parts Market and pledged to reconstruct the Uwasota-Uwelu Road.
Okpebholo made the commitments on Friday during a visit to the market to assess traders’ challenges and discuss measures to support their businesses.

The governor urged the traders to form a cooperative society if they had none, saying the structure would enable them to access the proposed grant.
He also promised to return to the area to monitor contractors and flag off the reconstruction of the Uwasota-Uwelu Road, as well as intervene in the condition of a secondary school in the area.
Okpebholo attributed his administration’s ability to execute development projects and meet salary obligations to financial support from President Bola Tinubu.
He also said his administration had paid a 13th-month salary to workers in the state.
The State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Sylvester Aigboboh, said the administration had embarked on road repairs and rehabilitation projects across Edo, including Sapele Road, Amofin Road, Uteh Palace Road and Temboga Road.
The Chairman of Uwelu Spare Parts Market, Osemwengie Enogumwengie, thanked the governor for visiting the market and appealed for the reconstruction of roads linking Uwasota and Egor.
The Commissioner for Ethics and Nationality, Oli Martin, said traders in the market supported the APC-led administration and expressed confidence in its support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
The Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Osaro Eribo, also said the council had compiled a list of roads requiring repairs and would begin interventions across the area.
