The Lagos State Deputy Governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election, Obafemi Hamzat, has promised to reduce the amount of time residents spend travelling from their homes to their workplaces and places of business.

Lagos has long struggled with traffic congestion on major roads, often resulting in lengthy commuting times for residents across the state.

Speaking on the Independence Day edition of The Platform, organised by Covenant Nation on Thursday, Hamzat said reducing travel time would be a key part of his vision for Lagos.

“My vision is if you live in Agege or you live in Ajegunle or you live in Ajah or in Igando, the time it takes you from your home to your work or where you ply your trade, I guarantee that it is going to be shorter than it is today, that is my guarantee,” Hamzat said.
