Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has sworn in six newly appointed commissioners, charging them to discharge their responsibilities diligently and place the interest of the state above personal considerations.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Minna, where the Chief Magistrate I, Murtala Ibrahim, administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance to the new commissioners.

Bago urged the commissioners to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their assignments and ensure that their respective ministries contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of his administration.
The governor said permanent secretaries in the affected ministries had been directed to brief the new commissioners and provide them with detailed reports on ongoing programmes and activities.
He also directed the commissioners to resume work immediately and familiarise themselves with the responsibilities and programmes of their ministries.
The appointments followed the resignation of six members of the State Executive Council who stepped down to pursue their political ambitions in forthcoming elective contests.
