The Kebbi State Government has approved a N75,000 minimum wage for 17,620 teachers across the state.
The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Abubakar Zaki, disclosed this in a statement, saying the approval followed Governor Nasir Idris’ endorsement of the White Paper on the report of a committee set up to audit the teaching workforce and review the salary structure.

Zaki said teachers would begin receiving the new minimum wage from October 2026.
The NUT chairman commended the state government for its investment in the education sector, including the rehabilitation of 2,650 schools and construction of 200 new ones.
He urged teachers to reciprocate the government’s gesture with renewed dedication, commitment and professionalism.
