The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has accused former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of allowing political ambition to undermine his statesmanship after he repeatedly addressed President Bola Tinubu as “Bola”.

In a statement on Monday, APC PCC spokesperson and Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, said Atiku, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, had failed to demonstrate the decorum expected of a former vice-president and presidential aspirant.

Alake also criticised Atiku’s description of President Tinubu’s administration as a “Yahoo Yahoo” government and his allegations that the President had lied and did not attend school.

The APC campaign council, however, urged its leaders, members and supporters to continue treating Atiku with the respect due to a former vice-president and presidential candidate.

It said its campaign would focus on issues affecting Nigerians, the APC’s programmes, President Tinubu’s achievements and the administration’s efforts to move the country from economic reforms to prosperity as the President seeks re-election.
