The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on his inclusion in President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The party described Soludo’s appointment as a recognition of his leadership and commitment to progressive ideals, as well as his advocacy for stronger cooperation between APGA and the Federal Government.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, APGA said the governor’s position reflected the party’s support for a strategic partnership with the Federal Government for the benefit of Anambra State and the South-East.
The reaction followed the release of a revised All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 general election.
Other prominent figures named on the list include the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
Tinubu will head the campaign council, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as vice-chairmen.
APGA said Soludo’s inclusion aligned with its decision to support Tinubu for a second term, noting that the party had adopted the president as its consensus candidate for the 2027 election.
According to Opara, the decision was formalised at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting and during Tinubu’s working visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025. He added that APGA had consequently resolved not to field a presidential candidate in the election.
The party also defended Soludo’s mantra, “Progressives are Working Together,” describing it as a reflection of shared political ideals between APGA and the progressive movement at the centre.
It said the partnership had already produced benefits for Anambra through federal collaboration on infrastructure and economic development initiatives.
Despite its support for Tinubu’s re-election, APGA maintained that it would retain its independent political platform in Anambra, declaring its support for the president while backing APGA candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
The party expressed confidence that Soludo would use his experience, organisational capacity and acceptance across the South-East to mobilise support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
