The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has introduced QR codes to help eligible voters locate designated Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The codes will be available for scanning on the commission’s website and social media platforms.

Speaking at a press conference at INEC’s headquarters in Lagos on Tuesday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami, urged voters to collect their PVCs, verify their registration details and rely on official information as preparations for the elections intensify.
The commission said preparations were ongoing, including the procurement and testing of voter accreditation devices, improvements to election result transmission systems, logistics planning, and the recruitment and training of election personnel.
INEC also announced a revised election timetable following the repeal of the Electoral Act 2022 and the enactment of the Electoral Act 2026, which altered statutory timelines for electoral activities.
Under the revised schedule, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
