… South African star clinches Best Afrobeats Artist and Social Song of the Year
South African singer Tyla Seethal emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 2026 American Music Awards after securing two major awards at the ceremony held in Las Vegas.

Tyla won the Best Afrobeats Artist category, defeating Nigerian stars Burna Boy, Wizkid and Rema, alongside Ghanaian-American artiste MOLIY.
She also claimed the Social Song of the Year award for her hit single CHANEL, becoming the only African artiste to win at this year’s ceremony.
The 24-year-old entered the night as the most nominated African act in American Music Awards history with four nominations, including Best Female R&B Artist and Best Music Video.
Although absent from the event, Tyla’s double win marked another major achievement in her growing global music career.
