Ogunbode emerges Deputy Director-General as three Assistant Directors-General are appointed across senatorial districts.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has approved key appointments into his campaign organisation as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship election.

The appointments follow the earlier designation of Chief Yemi Aderibigbe as Director-General of the Campaign Organisation and are aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and enhancing coordination across the state.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate, announced the appointments in a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday.

Under the new arrangement, Hon. Sola Ogunbode has been appointed Deputy Director-General to support the Director-General in coordinating campaign activities across the state.

Also appointed as Assistant Directors-General are Barrister Lowo Obisesan for Oyo South Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape for Oyo Central Senatorial District, and Hon. Rasaq Raji for Oyo North Senatorial District.

The campaign organisation said the appointments are expected to deepen grassroots mobilisation, strengthen coordination across the three senatorial districts and reinforce its readiness ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Expressing confidence in the appointees, Alli said they would bring their political experience, leadership capacity and commitment to ensuring victory for the APC at the polls.

“Let me assure all our party men and women that this campaign will be all-inclusive. No one will be left behind. Every ward, every local government and every interest group within our party has a role to play in this project,” he said.

“We are one APC family. The task ahead is huge, but with unity of purpose, we will achieve it together,” he added.

Hon. Rasaq Raji is a grassroots politician and APC chieftain from Igbeti in Olorunsogo Local Government Area of the state.

Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, a metallurgical engineering graduate, served as Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003 and later as Minority Leader from 2019 to 2023. He also served as Special Adviser during the administration of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Barrister Lowo Obisesan, a legal practitioner and Ibadan senior chief, was Commissioner for Environment during the administration of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and is the founder of Black & White Law Chamber.
