Civil society groups, labour unions and youth organisations storm Ikeja, accusing government of failing to tackle rising hardship and insecurity.
A coalition of civil society organisations, labour unions, youth groups, community associations and faith-based organisations on Friday took to the streets of Lagos to protest worsening insecurity and the rising cost of living across the country.
The protesters gathered at Ikeja Under Bridge, where they called on the Federal Government to urgently address growing economic hardship, inflation and the persistent security challenges facing Nigerians.Your Attractive Heading

Carrying placards with messages such as “End Hunger,” “Free All Captives Now,” “No Democracy Without Security,” “Decent Minimum Wage,” and “Tinubu Has Failed Nigeria,” the demonstrators demanded immediate action to improve citizens’ welfare and restore public confidence in governance.
The coalition described the protest as a mass action against what it termed anti-people policies, escalating economic hardship and the worsening security situation across the country.

Participants urged authorities to prioritise job creation, improve living standards, strengthen security efforts and implement policies that would ease the burden on struggling households and businesses.
The demonstration comes amid increasing public concern over rising food prices, inflation and growing insecurity in several parts of Nigeria.
