Party says Ogbomoso politician’s choice will strengthen alliance and boost support across Oyo State.
The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has unveiled Hon. Muftau Open Salawu of Ogbomoso as its Deputy Governorship Candidate ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
The announcement was made on Wednesday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, during a ceremony attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the state.
APM officials described Salawu’s selection as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the party’s alliance and expanding its political reach, especially in Ogbomoso and the Oke-Ogun areas.
Speaking after his unveiling, Salawu expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with party stakeholders toward promoting development and good governance in Oyo State.
The choice of a deputy candidate marks another step in the political preparations ahead of the 2027 Oyo governorship election, as parties continue to position themselves for the contest.
