Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, has lost two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, in a tragic road accident along the Bauchi-Azare Road.

The fatal crash occurred on Saturday, claiming the lives of the siblings at the scene, while other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to a hospital in Bauchi, where they were confirmed dead before being released to their family.

Funeral prayers were held at the Bauchi Emir’s Palace, attracting hundreds of Muslim faithful, sympathisers and well-wishers. The siblings were later laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

Reacting to the tragedy, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a painful loss for both the Tela family and the people of Bauchi State.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give their family the strength and patience to bear the loss.

He also urged the bereaved family to take solace in the will of Allah, noting that every soul will ultimately return to its Creator.

Governor Mohammed further sympathised with those injured in the accident and prayed for their quick recovery, while calling on residents of the state to remember the deceased and their family in their prayers.
