Segun Aina promises tougher action against examination malpractice, admission fraud and cybercrime as he assumes office.
Professor Segun Aina has pledged to protect the integrity of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), declaring that his administration will adopt a zero-tolerance approach to examination malpractice and admission fraud.
Speaking during his formal handover ceremony at JAMB’s National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, on Friday, the newly appointed Registrar said trust and transparency would remain the foundation of the Board’s operations.

Aina said JAMB would intensify efforts to expose and prosecute examination syndicates, impersonators, certificate forgers, cybercriminals and corrupt officials through stronger technology, intelligence gathering and collaboration with security agencies.
He stressed that preserving the credibility of the examination system is essential to ensuring that deserving candidates gain admission based on merit.
The registrar also pledged to improve service delivery by simplifying procedures, strengthening communication and deploying technology to make JAMB more accessible and efficient for candidates, parents and tertiary institutions.
Aina expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the appointment and commended his predecessor, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, for reforms that strengthened public confidence in the Board.
Reflecting on his appointment, he described his return to JAMB, where he once served as a National Youth Service Corps member, as a full-circle moment, promising to build on the agency’s achievements while preparing it for future challenges.
