Governor Nasir Idris mourns ex-deputy governor, describes him as a humble and dedicated public servant whose legacy will endure.
Former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, has died after a prolonged illness.
Family sources confirmed that Aliyu, who served as deputy governor under former Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari from 2007 to 2015, passed away in Sokoto.
Reacting to the development, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, described the late Aliyu as one of the state’s most respected leaders, whose life was defined by selfless service, integrity and commitment to public service.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, the governor said the former deputy governor made significant contributions to the development of Kebbi State both as a career civil servant and as deputy governor.
Governor Idris noted that Aliyu earned widespread respect for his humility, honesty and dedication to the welfare of the people, adding that his legacy of exemplary leadership would continue to inspire future generations.
“His invaluable contributions to the development of our state and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people will continue to inspire generations,” the governor said.
The governor prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. He also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Yauri Emirate and the people of Kebbi State, praying that they find the strength to bear the loss.
