Izeze Reuben suspended to allow security agencies investigate alleged attack on SSA Protocol, Simon Mudi.

The Delta State Government has ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of the Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban Roads), Izeze Reuben, over allegations linking him to the recent assault of the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Simon Mudi, popularly known as Temple.

The suspension was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Eze Emu.

According to the statement, the decision was taken to allow security agencies to conduct an impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, which occurred at the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun.

Mudi was reportedly attacked and beaten during a political gathering at the institute, sustaining injuries in the process.

The state government said the circumstances surrounding the incident and the identities of those involved are now subject to investigation by the appropriate security authorities.

It stressed that the suspension would enable the security agencies to carry out their investigation without interference and establish the facts of the incident.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, law and order and the protection of human lives, stressing that these principles apply in all circumstances, including incidents involving state institutions and government officials.
