Abia court sentences unlicensed driver to one month in prison as FRSC intercepts vehicle carrying passengers and motorcycles in hazardous conditions.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has prosecuted a road traffic offender and intercepted a heavily overloaded vehicle carrying passengers and motorcycles under dangerous conditions in Abia State and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the FRSC said a mobile court in Abia State sentenced Azubuike Dominic to one month imprisonment at Afara Correctional Centre.

Dominic was convicted after he was arrested for driving a commercial vehicle without a valid driver’s licence and allegedly absconding with an FRSC Arresting Marshal while being escorted to court.
In a separate intelligence-led enforcement operation in Nyanya, Abuja, FRSC marshals intercepted a vehicle carrying 15 people and eight motorcycles concealed among goods beneath a sealed trampoline.
The Corps described the method of conveying the passengers and motorcycles as highly hazardous and a clear violation of road safety regulations.
FRSC warned motorists and commercial transport operators against practices that endanger passengers and other road users, stressing that offenders would face enforcement action.
