The Finance Ministry wants proposals on taxation, revenue, fiscal management and other reforms to improve Nigeria’s business and investment climate.

The Federal Government has invited Nigerians, businesses, investors and other stakeholders to submit proposals for the 2027 Finance Bill.

The Federal Ministry of Finance, in a notice issued on Friday, said the consultation was aimed at improving Nigeria’s fiscal laws, strengthening the business and investment environment and promoting transparency in public finance.

The ministry called for practical and evidence-based proposals from individuals, businesses, professional bodies, civil society organisations, academics, public institutions and other interested groups.

Areas open for submissions include taxation and revenue administration, fiscal policy, budget management, public debt, financial regulation, transparency and accountability, customs and excise matters, and relations between the Federal Government and states.

The government also wants recommendations that could reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, improve tax compliance and administration, attract investment and boost economic productivity.

The ministry urged stakeholders to identify specific gaps in existing laws and propose workable solutions with measurable economic impact.

Submissions must be made by Friday, September 11, 2026, through financebill2027@fmf.gov.ng or the Federal Ministry of Finance’s designated online platform.

The proposals will help shape the fiscal and tax measures that may eventually be presented to the National Assembly as part of the 2027 Finance Bill.
