… as efforts continue to rescue abducted teachers and pupils.

Adesiyan Adegboye, one of the teachers killed during the coordinated attack on schools in Oyo State, will be buried today, May 22, 2026, in Ogbomoso.

The 49-year-old teacher was reportedly killed during the attack carried out by armed bandits last Friday in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

According to details contained in the burial programme obtained in Ibadan, Adegboye will be laid to rest at his residence in the Owolake area of Ogbomoso.

The deceased was born on December 11, 1976, and was said to have been killed when gunmen invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School, Esiele, around 9:30 a.m.

The coordinated attacks led to the abduction of several teachers and pupils across the affected schools.

Following the incident, Olatunji Disu visited the scene and deployed additional detectives from Abuja to support ongoing rescue operations alongside other security agencies.

Earlier, Seyi Makinde confirmed that seven students were abducted from Community Grammar School (Esiele), while 18 children and seven teachers were kidnapped from First Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota) during the attack.
