Dangote’s Daughters Say They Prefer to Let Their Professional Achievements Speak for Them
A resurfaced video featuring the three daughters of Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has sparked reactions online after Halima Dangote said she and her sisters were not “spoilt” despite growing up in a wealthy family.
The video, which was widely shared on X on Saturday, was taken from a Bloomberg Next Africa interview featuring Halima, Mariya and Fatima Dangote. The interview was filmed at the family’s home in Lagos and published in August 2026.
Speaking about their upbringing and public profile, Halima said the sisters had deliberately maintained a low-key lifestyle and preferred to be recognised for their professional achievements.
“We are not spoilt,” she said, explaining that she and her sisters did not typically draw attention to their family background when interacting with their peers.
Halima said the sisters were also not particularly expressive about their wealth, possessions or activities on social media.
She said they preferred a situation where our results speak for themselves, citing their professional positions, business performance, profits and growth.
“I think, like Fatima and Mariya said, the results are just the ones speaking for themselves,” she said, referring to the sisters’ roles in the family’s business interests.
The comments have generated reactions on social media, with some users praising the sisters’ low-profile approach to their family’s wealth and public lives.
Dangote had previously indicated that he could see one of his three daughters eventually leading the Dangote Group.
“I think, yes, I can see one of them. I’ve been watching all of them, so I can definitely see one of the three that can actually lead,” he said.
