400-Level Public Administration Student Dies in Wawa, Borgu LGA

The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, Niger State, has announced the death of a 400-level Public Administration student, Isma’il Ishaq Magaji.

The university said Magaji was killed by a stray bullet during a land dispute in his hometown, Wawa, in Borgu Local Government Area of the state.

The Deputy Registrar, Information, Baba Akote, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lapai on Saturday.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Sulaiman, described the incident as a distressing and painful loss to the university community.

Sulaiman extended his condolences to Magaji’s family, friends, classmates and associates, while praying for the repose of his soul and strength for his loved ones.

He appealed to communities involved in the dispute to embrace dialogue, exercise restraint and prioritise peaceful coexistence to prevent further loss of lives.

The Police had not immediately confirmed the incident as of the time of filing the report.
