Balikis Shobowale Allegedly Hid Ethanol in Bottled Water Pack for Inmate
A woman identified as Shobowale Balikis has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle alcohol concealed in a bottled water pack into the Ibara Custodial Centre in Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ogun State Command, Olayinka Odukoya, said Balikis was intercepted by correctional officials at about 3:50pm on Saturday, September 26.

According to Odukoya, the woman allegedly concealed ethanol in a bottled water pack disguised as drinking water intended for an inmate.
He said the substance was detected before it reached the inmates, adding that Balikis had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Controller of Corrections in Ogun State, Abioye Adesina, said the command maintained a zero-tolerance policy towards the smuggling of contraband into custodial facilities.
He said the service would continue to strengthen security measures to protect inmates, maintain order and uphold the integrity of the correctional system.
