The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will begin distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible registered voters within the next three days.

INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, disclosed this at a strategic engagement meeting with journalists in Abuja.

The exercise is expected to provide voters who recently registered, transferred their voting locations or applied for replacement of damaged PVCs with their cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the commission, the distribution is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that eligible Nigerians can participate in the electoral process.

Amupitan said INEC was also strengthening the use of technology to prevent stolen, lost or compromised voter cards from being used by unauthorised persons to interfere with the electoral process.

He also warned political parties and their supporters against disrupting the campaigns, rallies and other activities of rival parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
