Applications Run Until October 20 for Presiding Officers, Supervisors and Returning Officers
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has opened its recruitment portal for eligible Nigerians seeking to serve as ad hoc staff for the December 29, 2026 Local Government Council Elections in the state.
The commission said registration for the available positions will run from October 5 to October 20, 2026.
The positions include Presiding Officers (PO), Assistant Presiding Officers (APO), Supervisors (SU), Ward Collation Officers (WCO), Local Government Returning Officers (LGRO) and Local Government Assistant Returning Officers (LGARO).
According to OYSIEC Chairman, Dr Afees Adeniyi, applicants are required to register through the commission’s e-recruitment portal before the deadline.
Applicants must have a functional phone number and Android-enabled phone, an active email address, an operational commercial bank account and the required educational qualifications.
Candidates for Presiding Officer and Assistant Presiding Officer positions must possess at least an OND or NCE, while applicants for Supervisor and Ward Collation Officer positions require a minimum of BA, B.Sc. or HND.
Candidates for Local Government Returning Officer and Local Government Assistant Returning Officer positions must be Chief Lecturers or their equivalent in tertiary institutions.
OYSIEC said only applicants who meet the stipulated requirements will be considered for engagement.
