Vice President to Participate in Nigeria-Ethiopia Leadership Exchange on Improving Nutrition Delivery
Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to lead a government-to-government peer exchange focused on accelerating nutrition delivery in Nigeria.
Shettima is attending the forum at the invitation of Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh, who is championing the country’s multisectoral approach to improving nutrition.

The Vice President will participate in the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Visit, which will bring key stakeholders together to share experiences on building federal, state and local cooperation on nutrition.

The Nigerian delegation will exchange experiences with Ethiopian officials on how government-led programmes can improve nutrition delivery and visit facilities involved in nutrition and food production.
The scheduled visits include a wheat farm and banana plantation in Oromia, the “Bounty of the Basket” Training Centre and households in Mojo, as well as Jabdu Motors in Bishoftu.
Shettima is accompanied by Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, and Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar.
The Vice President is expected to return to Abuja after the engagements in Ethiopia.
