The Federal Government has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) against poor performance, insisting that public institutions must demonstrate accountability and deliver measurable results.
Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, issued the warning at a high-level strategic engagement on MDA performance and data harmonization hosted by the Federal Ministry of Finance.

Audu said an assessment under the Business Environment Enhancement Programme Accelerator showed that 16 MDAs had fully implemented the reforms evaluated.
However, recent mystery shopping findings revealed a decline in responsiveness after active monitoring ended, raising concerns about agencies commitment to sustaining reforms without continuous supervision.
She said ongoing mystery shopping exercises, a live performance tracker and an upcoming end-of-year Business Facilitation Act Compliance Ranking would keep agencies under scrutiny.
The monitoring mechanisms are designed to identify service delivery gaps, track compliance and ensure MDAs meet their reform commitments.
PEBEC said the Federal Ministry of Finance would increasingly consider agencies performance, responsiveness and compliance with reforms in its engagements with them.
The council added that it would continue using digital tracking, mystery shopping and data-driven assessments to strengthen transparency, stressing that compliance on paper alone was no longer sufficient.
