The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a suspected counterfeit drinks production facility at Zamfara Plaza, BBA Trade Fair Complex, Lagos State, arresting two men in connection with the operation.
The facility was allegedly used to relabel expired drinks, including Bullet Energy Drink, Don Julio tequila and Jameson whiskey. The identities of the suspects had not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

In a video shared on the agency’s X handle on Tuesday, NAFDAC operatives were seen inspecting packs of drinks, bottles, chemicals and packaging materials scattered around the facility.
One of the operatives alleged that expired labels were being removed and replaced, warning that Bullet Energy Drink was consumed daily by millions of Nigerians.
NAFDAC said the suspects were arrested while allegedly revalidating energy drinks and popular wine and whisky brands, adding that further details would be released.
