The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to submit the 2027–2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the National Assembly before presenting the 2027 Appropriation Bill.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen made the call while outlining the legislative priorities of the 10th Assembly as it enters the final year of its tenure.

He listed the conclusion of the Constitution alteration process and the consideration and passage of the MTEF and Fiscal Strategy Paper among the lawmakers’ key priorities.

During plenary, the House also considered executive communications, including President Bola Tinubu’s request for approval of a promissory note programme to reimburse the Yobe State Government with ₦100.5bn for the takeover of the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu.

President Tinubu also transmitted two bills to the House for consideration: the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols Bill and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Enforcement Bill, 2026.
