Baale says grieving parents turned down relief items and cash from government officials, insisting on the safe return of abducted pupils and teachers.
The Baale of Yawota Community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State has revealed that parents of the abducted pupils and teachers rejected rice and cash gifts brought by government officials, insisting that their only concern is the safe return of their loved ones.
Speaking amid growing anxiety over the prolonged captivity of the victims, the traditional leader said the community remains devastated by the abduction and is focused solely on securing the release of the children and teachers.

According to the Baale, government representatives visited the community to sympathize with affected families and offered relief materials, including bags of rice and financial assistance. However, the parents reportedly declined the gesture, maintaining that no amount of money or material support could replace their missing children. “When government officials came to console us, they brought rice and money, but the parents rejected it and stated that they only want the safe release of our children,” the community leader said. He appealed to security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and reunite them with their families as quickly as possible.
