Tension is reportedly mounting within the Accord Party in Oyo State as internal disagreements over party tickets ahead of the primaries continue to deepen.

Different political blocs within the party are said to be supporting competing interests, with reports alleging that a faction is rallying around a preferred candidate linked to the political network of Seyi Makinde, popularly known as “Gudugudu.”

The development has reportedly generated dissatisfaction among some aspirants and party loyalists who believe the process may favour certain interests ahead of others.

Among those allegedly sidelined in the ongoing political calculations are Oriyomi Hamzat and Fatai Owoseni.

What initially began as internal consultations within the party is now reportedly evolving into a fierce political battle marked by allegations of imposition, exclusion and behind-the-scenes power struggles.

As the party moves closer to its primaries, observers say the major challenge will be whether the Accord Party can resolve its internal disagreements and maintain unity ahead of the election season.
