The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Akinyele Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olalere Solomon, popularly known as ERE, has carried out the dredging of the Seriki Okegbemi Olorisa Oko River in Ward 11, Akinyele Local Government, as part of efforts to curb flooding during the rainy season.
The intervention was aimed at reducing the risk of flooding and protecting lives and property in the community, where rising water levels have become a recurring concern whenever heavy rainfall occurs.
In response to the situation, ERE deployed an excavator to clear blocked waterways and dredge the river, a move expected to improve water flow, reduce flood threats, and ensure easier movement within the area.
Residents described the project as a timely intervention, saying it would help prevent the annual flooding that has affected the community for years.
Although he is yet to hold public office, ERE has continued to embark on community development projects across Akinyele Constituency II, earning praise for his grassroots approach to addressing local challenges.
Community leaders and residents of Seriki Okegbemi Olorisa Oko expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing ERE as a compassionate and responsive leader who has remained committed to the welfare of the people.
They noted that the dredging would help avert potential disasters and provide lasting relief to residents during the rainy season. The community also prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon ERE, while reaffirming their appreciation for his commitment to the development of Akinyele Constituency II.
