The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kaduna State University chapter, has suspended its indefinite strike following the Kaduna State Government’s approval of the full implementation and domestication of the 2025 FGN-ASUU agreement.

The decision was reached at the union’s congress held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, according to a statement signed by its Chairman, Abubakar Abdullahi, and Secretary, Silas Bakut.

The union unanimously resolved to suspend the industrial action with effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, September 18.

The development followed Governor Uba Sani’s approval of the implementation and domestication of the 2025 FGN-ASUU agreement for academic staff of Kaduna State University.

The implementation will begin with the October 2026 salary.

ASUU expressed appreciation for the resolution of the dispute, noting that the matter was addressed without intimidation or threats.
