Burna Boy, Diamond Platnumz and Black Sherif earn four nominations each ahead of September awards ceremony in Texas.

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has emerged as the most nominated artiste at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

The nominations list, unveiled on AFRIMMA’s official Instagram page on Wednesday, saw Davido receive five nominations across major categories, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.

The singer earned nominations for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa, Crossing Boundaries With Music Award, and AFRIMMA Album of the Year. His hit collaboration with Omah Lay, With You, also secured nominations for Best Collaboration and Song of the Year.

Afrobeats heavyweight Burna Boy, Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, and Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif followed closely with four nominations each.

South African singer Tyla led the female category with three nominations, while Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems picked up two nods.

The Best Influencer category features popular Nigerian content creators Peller, Carter Efe, Nasty Blaq, and Sabinus.

In the film category, actors Timini Egbuson, Uzor Arukwe, Bimbo Ademoye, and Uche Montana were nominated for Best Actor.

The 2026 AFRIMMA Awards and Music Festival is scheduled to hold on September 12 at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas, where some of Africa’s biggest stars are expected to converge for the annual celebration of music, film, and entertainment excellence.
