Afrobeats superstar joins Major Lazer for FIFA’s global celebration ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been announced as one of the headline performers for the Los Angeles edition of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert series.

The announcement was made by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), which revealed that Davido will share the stage with Diplo’s Major Lazer during the highly anticipated event scheduled for June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The concert is part of FIFA’s first-ever synchronized live entertainment series across the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to FIFA, the Los Angeles show will celebrate the fusion of music, football and culture, while connecting fans around the world through live performances streamed simultaneously from Los Angeles, Mexico City and Toronto.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the USA, Manolo Zubiria, described the event as a global celebration of unity and passion ahead of the tournament. The concert will be broadcast worldwide through FIFA’s digital platforms, including a livestream on FIFA’s World Cup TikTok account, with additional performances expected to be announced in the coming days. Davido’s inclusion further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats and Nigeria’s expanding presence on the international entertainment stage.
