Knives, Toy Gun, Cannabis Recovered During Raids Across Territory
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified its crackdown on crime, raiding identified flashpoints, shanties and uncompleted buildings across the territory.
The operation resulted in the arrest of about 300 persons for screening and profiling, while knives, a toy gun, cannabis and other illicit drugs were recovered from suspected criminal hideouts.
The Command said suspects found to have committed offences would be charged to court, while those cleared after thorough screening would be released.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, warned residents against illicit drug abuse, noting that it could impair judgment and contribute to criminal behaviour.
Sanusi also directed officers involved in the operations to remain professional and conduct the raids strictly within the law.
He warned against extortion, intimidation and harassment of residents during the operations.
The Command urged residents to provide credible and timely information about suspicious activities and suspected criminal hideouts to support efforts to improve security across the FCT.
