Governor Describes Olori Basirat Ajibola’s Death as a Loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commiserated with the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, over the death of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola.

Governor Makinde described her death as a loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State, extending his condolences to the monarch, the Ajibola family and the Ibadan traditional institution.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor said the late Olori, who held the title of Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland, contributed to the community through her support for the monarch and commitment to its wellbeing.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Oyo State, I extend my deepest sympathies to Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and the entire family,” Governor Makinde said.

He prayed for strength and comfort for the monarch and other members of the family during the difficult period, adding that the late Olori’s humility and service would be remembered by those who knew her.

The governor also reaffirmed the state government’s support for the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland as they mourn her death.
